[FREE ANDROID APP] Spaces - In Between WhatsApp and Slack - Group Messenger For Sharing Made by Google

Today FREE Android App of the day is Spaces - Small Group Sharing.

What is this app about?
A new app made by Google - Spaces is not something related to outer space or sky but rather a new attempt from Google in multi-media messenger war.

Features & How to Use
Login using your Google account, then you can start right away creating space.

Invite others to join your space using "Invite via..." menu on the space.
One space may have multiple Post (Google term for topic) inside where each post you may have multiple replies/chats/discussions.

Inside Post, you can send plain text, send link - including YouTube link, attach photo or taking photo directly from the camera and send sticker. Pretty much the same as most of the messenger out there.

However, unlike the rest of messengers, Spaces allows you to do Google search your link right away from inside the Post, tap on the 'send link' then search. So you don't need to go back and forth between the messenger and the browser to copy url from browser and paste the url to the chat room.
You can also search anything you have in a space from your search bar.

First Impression
To me, Spaces is in between WhatsApp and Slack.

Spaces is not for your daily chit-chatting app like WhatsApp but rather for your group discussion based on topics and interest.
Spaces works more like Slack but without those 'complicated' terms and techie features, no hashtag kind of thing.

The Verdict
Well, you can give it a try. Since it's from Google, there won't be any limitation like you have with free version of Slack. You can post as many as you want.
Another good thing is Spaces is directly available on the web as well. Open spaces.google.com to start/reply to a topic.

[FREE ANDROID APP] Kifi: Knowledge Management for Teams - Kifi = Pocket + Slack

Today FREE Android App of the day is Kifi.

For more FREE APPS or FREE GAMES, visit:
http://android711.blogspot.com/

What is the app about?
Kifi is a new app to collect, organize and share knowledge among teams and/or public.
I have just tried Kifi for like 5-10 minutes, and so far I can think Kifi is like Pocket + Slack.

Collect, Organize,  Share and Collaborate
It's like Pocket app because of Kifi main features is to 'keep' anything you find from anywhere.

Browser link, other people keeps, teammates keep. Give your own tagging when keeping.
And you can organize your keeps anyway you like it to be: create libraries, put them to it.

It's like Slack app because with Kifi you can share and collaborate on the keeps among team members and outsiders if you need to.

Get Team Creation Bonus
Because Kifi is relatively new, they have "Bonus" as much as $50 when you successfully create your first Team.

Mobile App still needs improvement though
Based on my 10-minute testing, the mobile app needs quite many improvements. The main feature that I think is missing and really important is the ability to add 'keep' directly from the app.
So far I couldn't find a way from my phone to add new keep. I need to do it via browser.

Also when I need to create a team, the team creation also needs to be done via browser.

The Verdict
If you are looking app with Pocket featues with Slack capabilities, Kifi is the app. The FREE version allows you to collect unlimited keeps and unlimited public libraries. However the FREE version capped the number of team you can create to max 10. For me, having unlimited keeps and libraries are more than enough.
