[FREE ANDROID APP] Hound: Say It. Get It - The New Voice Assistant in the Block

What is this app about?
Hound is a new voice search and assistant made available by SoundHound - the maker of the famous song recognition app.

Main Feature
The main feature is the the ability to do voice search and assist you to your query using natural language. You don't need to use any special command whatsoever but to speak naturally.

"Ok Hound"
If Siri can be activated by saying "Hi Siri", or Google Now voice assistant can be activated by saying "Ok Google", Hound can be activated by saying "Ok Hound".
Unfortunately, since Hound is 3rd party app and not deeply integrated to the iOS/Android, then you still need to open the app before calling "Ok Hound".

Follow Up Questions
Have you ever been in this kind of situation when interacting with the voice assistant?
You first ask "What's the temperature?", then you want to know more, so for the second time you ask, "How about two months from now?"
Hound recognize follow up questions, so you don't have to repeat the whole questions.

Difference with Siri & Google Now/Voice Assistant
Based on my personal test, there is not much difference between Siri & Google Now compared to Hound. Both Siri & Google Now as of today can also do follow up questions.
Hound and Google Now is better in recognizing my english with my Indonesian accent while for Siri, sometimes she hears me wrongly.
From the search result, again based on location (I'm in Singapore), both Siri and Google Now actually shows more result compared to Hound when I ask for nearby restaurant.

The Verdict
Hound is new player in voice search and assistant world, however backed by SoundHound which is the -if not number one - perhaps the best song recognizer by sound, I believe Hound can be improved more in the future. Currently only available in US store, probably that's why when I asked her something nearby (Singapore), she couldn't really give me great answer. And also since Hound is 3rd party app, to do something deeply integrated with the OS, such as sending SMS/create reminder, she still can't do it better than Siri/Google Now.
